Brightline+ Partners With Uber Connecting Riders To Various Destinations In South Florida – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI (WSVN) – Brightline has announced a new partnership with Uber that will make rides throughout South Florida seamless and convenient.

On Friday, Brightline announced a collaboration between the two companies that will offer guests a ride-sharing service within the Brightline app, which has already made it easier for people to travel between the five stations in South Florida.

Uber is expected to expand Brightline+ vehicle and mobility options to consumers at an affordable price.

This would be the first time Uber has connected to a higher-speed intercity rail service in the US.

Brightline President Patrick Goddard and Uber Transit Partnership Director Dmitriy Vanchugov praised the collaboration in a press release.

“It is critical to our guest experience that access to our stations be convenient and seamless,” Goddard said. “This partnership meets the preferences and demands of our guests by unlocking a fleet of vehicles online to provide door-to-door service when they use Brightline.”

“Through this partnership with Brightline, Uber continues our work to complement mass transit and expand transportation access in South Florida,” said Vanchugov. “By making Uber readily available to Brightline riders, together we can close the first and last mile gaps and bring shared mobility options under one roof, making it more convenient and accessible for customers.”

Guests can now add private or shared Uber rides when booking a train ticket within the Brightline app or website. The new feature is designed to eliminate wait times and ensure that a driver is waiting at the curb for the customer to reach their next destination.

According to a press release, “Premium guests will receive complimentary rides within a five-mile radius, while Smart guests can add a ride to and from the station for one fee with no distance restrictions.”

Self-drive rides will continue to be provided through Brightline+’s fixed-route transportation option that helps guests travel to Miami International Airport, destinations in Miami Beach, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Transportation services for events and electric golf carts in the vicinity of its stations will also continue to be provided through the Brightline app.
