Zartler, Stanley promoted

With the growing demand for sporting events and sporting destination management, Visit Lake Charles appointed eric zartler as senior vice president of sports and taylor beard stanley as Vice President of Sales.

Zartler has been a comprehensive leader in sports destination marketing and management for the past 15 years. Team awards under Zartler’s leadership include the 2021 USSSA Louisiana Hall of Honor and the 2020 Louisiana Travel Association Event of the Year for the US Boxing and Olympic Trials National Championships.

He is the recipient of the Louisiana High School Coaches Association’s 2016 Distinguished Service Award, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s 2012 Super Sportsman Award, and Thrive Magazine’s 2012 13 Thrive Thirty Somethings Award. Certified Destination Management Executive, Travel Marketing Professional, and graduate of the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy and the Destination International Sales Academy. Zartler was the founding president and has served multiple terms as president of the Louisiana team. He is a member of the US Sports Congress Advisory Board and the Sports Events Advisory Board.

Stanley has worked to promote Southwestern Louisiana for the past six years. She earned her Tourism Marketing Certification in 2022 and was named a 2022 US Travel Emerging Leader. She graduated from Leadership SWLA in 2021, was named Destinations International 30 under 30, and was recognized as a 2020 Louisiana Travel Rising Star of the Year Stanley is also a 2018 graduate of the Louisiana Tourism Leadership Academy. She serves as a board member of the Louisiana Society of Association Executives, Fusion Five, and serves on the leadership councils of Destinations International 30 Under 30 and Leadership Southwest Louisiana Alumni.

LC native named COO of Wagoner

JACKSON, Miss. — Wagoner Engineering has announced that matthew butler has been named president and chief operating officer. Butler works out of Wagoner’s Jackson office as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

Raised in Lake Charles, Butler graduated with a Bachelor of Science from McNeese State University in environmental science. He was also the CEO and market leader for the CSRS regional offices.

As President/COO, Butler has primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day affairs of the company, accelerating company-wide operational performance, and overseeing the company’s business model transformation in collaboration with company-wide leaders.

Butler, a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience, has helped transform large engineering and construction companies into recognized leaders in infrastructure and the environment.

Prior to joining the firm, Butler was vice president of Atlas Technical Consultants, responsible for overall earnings growth, execution and strategy for the Louisiana operations. In 30 months, he helped them grow to 60 full-time employees, with 38 percent profit growth.

He has also held various high-level executive roles throughout his career, including Vice President of Jacobs Engineering and Senior Vice President of Shaw Group and CB&I.

A supporter of many social, civic, and charitable organizations throughout southwestern Louisiana, Butler serves on the Board of Directors for the Academy for Young Leaders, the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Commission, and as a governor-designate for the Board of District Commissioners of Pontchartrain Levee. Butler has also been a member of several other local and national non-profit agencies.

Butler has a Master of Science from the University of the South.

Rashall named hospital CSO

Memorial Health System is pleased to announce the promotion of Jason Rash as chief strategy officer.

Rashall has been with LCMHS since 2013, most recently as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, and has more than 25 years of experience working in the healthcare arena.

In recent years, Rashall’s strategic efforts have been instrumental in producing substantial new business growth for LCMHS and strengthening/connecting provider affiliations throughout Southwest Louisiana.

As Chief Strategy Officer for the region’s largest community health system, Rashall will oversee various business developments, payer engagement strategies, and other initiatives to better align healthcare services and patient accessibility for the Southwest Louisiana community. .

Avery, Allured, Zaveri on board

Visit Lake Charles is proud to announce the appointments of Eric Avery, Nathaniel seducedY Hiren Zaveri to the board of directors.

Avery is president and managing partner of Crying Eagle Brewing Company and Neighborhood Mini Storage. Over the years, he has been involved on the Board of Directors for the SWLA Chamber of Commerce, the Louisiana Brewers Guild, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception School, the American Red Cross, the Louisiana Self-Storage Association , the SWLA Chamber and Big Easy Foods. He has extensive experience as a civic, medical, and nonprofit volunteer. A Sulfur native, Avery earned his Bachelor of Science from McNeese State University in 1999 and his Master’s from LSU in 2001.

A Lake Charles native and McNeese graduate, Allured spent most of his post-college career in the wine industry as a sales manager with a major national distributor. In 2015, after nearly a decade in the wine business, he formed Calcasieu RR Enterprises. Allured embarked on two new ventures in 2018 with the launch of Smoke & Barrel and The Grounds Guys of Lake Charles, a professional gardening and landscaping company. In 2021, he was appointed to the Downtown Development Authority and was invited by Just Imagine SWLA to be the Strong Downtowns Team Project Champion.

A Lake Charles native, Zaveri attended LSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2014, completing his MBA in 2021 from McNeese. He is a co-founder of Prosperity Hospitality Management and serves as Prosperity Hospitality’s Chief Financial Officer. Zaveri also owns and manages several hotels in the Lake Charles/Sulfur area, and is a member of the Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club, where he serves as a board member and executive treasurer. Zaveri was also a past ambassador for the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) in the Gulf Region.
