The Chicago Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) celebrated the 74th Republic Day of India with patriotic fervor.

Republic Day of India is an important event for all Indians as the Constituent Assembly accepted the Constitution on January 26, 1949 and it came into force on January 26, 1950. It is the day of adoption of the constitution of India and the country’s transition to a republic on January 26, 1950. .

Attended by over 350 people, the 74th Republic Day was celebrated at the Fairfield Inn & Suite by Marriott in Schaumburg, IL on Friday, January 20, 2023. The celebration began with the American and Indian anthems and the lighting of lamps by the Deputy Consul General of India, Chicago, Shri TD Bhutia and with all the guests of honour, community leaders, FIA Trustees and FIA President Elect Dr. Rashmi Patel and Committee team members Executive.

The honorable guest Shri Raja Krishnamoorthy shared the importance of the constitution and the celebration of Republic Day.

The installation and swearing in ceremony for the incoming president and executive committee for 2023 was processed by Mr. Kantibhai S Patel, Chairman of the FIA ​​Election Committee.

Shri TD Bhutia, Indian Deputy Consul General, Chicago, shared great insights on India’s progress on various parameters and the successful footprints of Indians globally and also across the United States.

Dr. Rashmi Patel, President of the FIA ​​from 1980 to 2023, shared his vision and idea to be implemented by the team chosen by the FIA ​​for the benefits of the community, development and creation of an easy platform for accessibility in need or support for all walks of life.
